About SalonLinks

Salon and spa software is hard to compare from the outside. Most products promise the same things on their home pages, the real costs sit in card processing and add-ons, and owners often learn what a system can't do only after they have moved their whole client list into it. We started SalonLinks to give a plain first look: what each tool does, which job it is mainly for, and what to ask before you sign.

The site is written for the people doing the work, such as a salon owner who still works on the floor, a spa manager, a barbershop owner or an independent stylist renting a suite. We keep descriptions short and factual, mark what we couldn't confirm, and leave out scores we would have to make up. Tool makers can submit or claim a listing for free, and paid placements are always labeled.

We also try to say what each kind of tool can't do, because that is where owners are most often surprised.

A tool is listed once we have confirmed that its official site is live and that it does what our description says. Each tool sits in the one category that fits its main job, even when it does more. We don't publish scores, rankings or prices, because prices change often and a score would be our opinion dressed up as a fact. Tools we couldn't confirm stay off the site until we can.

SalonLinks is for the business side of beauty: owners, managers, barbers and independent stylists choosing software. It is not a guide to consumer beauty apps, and nothing here is legal, tax or medical advice.
