Every salon and spa tool, by category

This page lists every category on SalonLinks and every tool in it. The categories follow the jobs that come up when you run a salon, spa or barbershop, so each tool appears once, under the work it is mainly bought for, even when it does more.

Salon management software is the main system for the business: the appointment book, client records and formulas, checkout, packages and reports. Booking apps are lighter tools for independent stylists, barbers and small shops, often with a marketplace where new clients find you. Spa and medspa software adds rooms, equipment, treatment records and memberships, and covers hotel spas and aesthetic clinics.

AI receptionists answer the phone and book appointments when nobody at the salon can pick up. Client messaging covers business texting, shared inboxes and reminders. Virtual try-on shows a client a hair color or makeup shade on their own face, and selfie skin analysis supports spa and skincare consultations. Marketing and reviews covers review requests, email, social planning and design.

Inventory and retail covers the color bar, back-bar stock and retail sales, including connected scales that weigh each bowl. Staff, scheduling and payroll covers shift schedules, time clocks, payroll and team chat for hourly and commission teams.

Some categories overlap on purpose. Most salon systems now include online booking, texting and marketing, and some include their own AI phone answering. A separate tool is worth a look when it does one job much better than your main system, or when your main system does not do it at all. Each category page explains what to check before you buy, and points to related categories so you can compare across the line.

If you are not sure where to start, begin with the problem that costs you the most time or money each week, such as missed calls, no-shows, wasted color or a slow payroll, and open that category first.

Questions about SalonLinks

Why is a tool listed in only one category?

Many salon platforms cover several jobs. We place each one under the work it is mainly bought for, so lists stay short and readable. The tool page describes what else it covers.

Do you list consumer beauty apps?

No. SalonLinks covers tools a salon, spa or independent pro uses to run the business. Virtual try-on tools are listed because salons, brands and retailers use them in consultations and retail.

Can I submit a tool for a category that doesn't exist yet?

Yes. Send it through the submission form and tell us what job it does. If several tools share that job, we may add a category for them.
